We are a crafty house. We have a room dedicated to crafting, where our many (many) bins of crafty bits are stored. My favorite pass time would have to be crochet, but until my boys are old enough to learn, they love to color, cut, and glue or tape pretty much everything and anything. The best Christmas activity I could think of for them – to customize a Christmas character or two starting with some printed inspiration.
When I started creating this activity set, my boys became so excited and begged me every day to print it out (even though all the pages were completely jumbled). The look in their eyes – absolutely priceless – when they saw the stacks of paper, wanting so badly for their little fingers to start creating. Something so simple will make them shake with anticipation.
Currently, they are spread out all over my dining room table. Bits of candy canes and snowflakes in a rainbow of colors, spread about waiting to be attached to a stocking or snow globe. I haven’t timed it yet, but I can guarantee it will take them many hours before they run out (and the best part, I can just print more pages and they can make something completely different).
And yes, they are coloring Christmas pages amongst Halloween decorations as it isn’t quite November yet! The stores are filled with Christmas decorations, and my favorite Hallmark Christmas movies have already started playing. We have become The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Staple my kids craft, and take it along as a Christmas activity book for travelling to visit over the holidays. Give them something to color in anticipation of cutting and creating at home later. It’s also a great homeschool activity, or preschool and Kindergarten craft. Get those little fingers school ready by practicing their coloring and cutting skills.
